Job Description
The Systems Administrator will internally support the technical & business teams with respect to their hardware, software & network access requirements.
The system admin will also in time be the core person managing the cloud-hosted platform infrastructure with server & network requirements sizing & deployment across multiple data centers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the [CTO / Ops head], the duties and responsibilities of the System Admin include:
. Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
. Maintain system efficiency.
. Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
. Troubleshoot problems reported by users.
. Make recommendations for future upgrades.
. Maintain network & system security.
. Analyze and isolate software/hardware/network issues.
. Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
. Evaluate and modify system’s performance.
. Identify user software/hardware/network needs.
. Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
. Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
. Design and deploy networks.
. Perform network address assignment.
. Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
. Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
. Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
. Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems.
. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

Desired Skills & Experience

Minimum Requirements
. 2+ years work experience on Windows systems as a System Admin
. College or University degree

Core Competency Requirements
. Proficient with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 modules with ADS
. Should be able to setup & administer firewalled HTTP/POP3/SMTP Proxy, VPN gateway & File server access
. In depth knowledge & experience with System Administration functions such as IT Security, Network Configurations & Maintenance, IT software & hardware support and their respective implementations
. Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes

Preferred Competency Requirements
. Experience with System Administration in a software development firm
. Experience with managing Linux servers & associated modules
. Experience with managing Cloud-hosted virtual machines
. Certification in Microsoft / UNIX / Linux networking
